Took my 1980 TR78 out for a drive today.   BIG SMILE and LOTS OF FUN!!!!

Nice to burn some gas in the TR7 in February in Northern Alberta.  I hope

to do more driving this week to get last falls gas out of the tank and to

recharge my battery. Anyone have an idea what the proper tires are for this

car?.   I have the standard factory steel wheels.  I am not looking for a

performance tire just a tire for highway driving in nice weather.   I have

no idea how old the ones on my car are and before I ask a tire dealer to

tell me their age and freak out  about how old they really are, I figure I

should have some idea what I will replace them with.   The tires have lots

of tread left and are not weather checked just old...

Hi,

Unless they are reallllyyyy old, then over here we have a code called the DOT code, last four numbers, normally on there own, will give the week number first then the year of manufacture.

All tires sold here also have a information sticker giving you such things the fuel consumption, wet weather grip, noise .

Link for one of online retailers, buy tyres there myself and get apprentice to fit them on quite Saturday mornings when guvnor not around SSSSHHH !
