and in addition to that tang on the door latch mechanism, Gary reports that

the rod between interior door handle and latch has an adjusting kink that had

relaxed and he just tightened it up with a twist and voila.



I have to take a door panel off again to see how that works. Frankly, the

whole mechanism is probably wearing out with age so it could be multiple

things conspiring to "stick" the door.



The "thump" method works too, to a point. I found I could easily open the door

using the OUTSIDE latch though, it was the inside latch that was troublesome.



And yes, it was written up in the last Bulletin :-)

and that's also why there will be a followup article in the next Bulletin about OTHER things you can try if you have a sticky door latch :-)
