door panels, seats, etc
« on: December 12, 2015, 10:52:38 AM »
I've noticed that Rimmer Bros now makes a whole host of complete replacement

interiors for our cars. I also see that Victoria British makes their own door

panels and stuff.

I'm assembling the next TWOA newsletter, does anyone have photos of these kits

installed IN your cars and would care to discuss "fit and finish"? My Aran

Beige car has an old Rimmer Bros leather interior, I see that would cost me

$1800 or so now if I were doing it! WOW.

Thanks,

I have VB door cards and rear firewall panel and am very happy with them! Yes,

you read that right...very happy with them. I was shocked too!

All my vinyl covered pieces were replaced through VB; door panels, rear

bulkhead, shifter console and the foot panels. Very pleased with them, fit

just fine and look great. I was extremely fortunate to do my interior when I

did, I was told I got the last full matching complete set of Golden Tan pieces

that matched real close to original. I also managed to get the last 6 yards of

vinyl material from TRF that was real close as well, closer than anything else

Ibve seen. Used that to recover my seats and have enough left over to

probably recover the panels so they all still match, if I have the car that

long.

Along the thread of interior trim pieces, does anyone sell just the rear

bulkhead trim panel?B  Neither Rimmer nor VB list it in their catalog nor

online. Had I planned ahead, I'd have ordered the whole interior kit, but it

didn't happen that way.B  It was one "whileB I'm at it" after another, til I

had replaced everything except that piece, and it's not theB color I went with

for the rest of it. The originalB (?) "biscuit" was nasty, filthy, etc & since

I prefer the tan/gold, that's what I ordered. Now it appears I may be screwed.

Any ideas?

Thanks.Tom Los

Tom,

I just went to VB site and checked, this is where I got mine and it was not

available in a set - all individual. Page 24 of current online catalog,

hopefully I pasted the links properly for you to click on. The links are for

Black but it should at least get you there. Did I read correctly you were

after the Golden Tan color? If so be prepared for a good long search for a

proper match. I can tell you that I lucked out - or at least thatbs what I

was told - I got the last full 6 yards of Golden Tan vinyl from TRF that

matched the original the closest and the last full matching set of vinyl

interior pieces from VB that was also very close to original. Again thatbs

what they said at the time and I wouldnbt be surprised because it was a

painful search: bthey had them then they didnbt, then they had them again,

then they didnbtb and then they couldnbt guarantee the match. When all

materials and pieces arrived b&. I was truly blessed.
