I have been thinking for a long time about conversion of my TR7 tail

lights to LEDs.B  The tail light housing has quite a bit of space and the

reflectors in many may have deteriorated.

Instead of using a commercail "bulb" shaped LED unit that relies on the

reflector, I have worked out a simple circuit to control the LED

brightness and have it mount onto a board so all the LEDs face directly

rearward for greatest efficiency.B  The LEDs have a pretty wide

dispersion and it ought to fill the red diffuser on the housing pretty

well.B  The circuit is nothing terribly special,B  quite standard,

actually.B  It provides a constant current over a range of operating

voltages, and maintains reasonable brightness even if the battery is

fairly depleted.

But, I need to have a test housing to work out the details of the LED

board shape and fitting, and to prove the requisite lumen output.B  Does

anyone have a broken TR7/TR8 rear tail light housing (or 2) that they

want to get rid of?

Tony (and others)

When posting requests and items for sale etc  an extra note as to which

country/area  you are in would be most helpful!

I have a rea light housing - but it is in the south of England...
