Yes, been there done that.
Multiple flat cams, multiple lifters pitting in under 1000 miles.
Finally after 4 sets of lifters and 3 cams I went for the roller
lifters, about $150 on ebay, don't regret it. As I recall the
pushrods are not reusable, but can also be purchased. it has to do
with the total length of the stem, cam to rocker. I wrote it up and
may still have it somewhere.
IIRC I measured the diameter and length and found some Chebby parts
that worked just dandy. the price difference between standard
hydraulic and rollers was under $100 extra, for the whole job.
