Thanks for all the advice.  It was encouraging.  Ibm in Lynchburg, Virginia

so the car was immersed in fresh water.  Itbs supposed to be at least partly

sunny the next 2 days so will do my best to change fluids and turn it over.

change the fluids in the tranny and diff. don't drive till changed,

and when they are changed drive for at least 100 miles and get the

moving parts warm, like the CV joints, suspension, brakes, drive U

joints and so on.

there are many places where water doesn't belong like electric, front

wheel bearings, gas tank, steering pinion, tires etc, remove the

battery, spare tire and fan it out good, and a running engine isn't

all your worries.

Good luck - there is a reason it is called Lynchburg?  and a better

reason to live in a place called Lynchburg? Please share.

If not already mentioned, be careful about something called hydrolock.

If some water entered a cylinder it could do lots of bad things under

compression.

On another car forum a guy broke the crankshaft on a flooded Ferrari.

Pull the plugs and crank the engine a few times just to make sure the

cylinders are free of any water.

The electrical connections will begin to corrode. Invest in a few bottles of

De-Oxit. Spray and brush.

Good luck!

I spent a day in Paris, Texas and never did see the Eiffel Tower.  Could there be another city with the same name elsewhere?
