That doesn't mean the SLAVE cylinder rods were longer also.  But the self-adjusting feature should compensate.

That's a new one on me.  I do recall the MASTER cylinders were shipping with longer pushrods.  That set the clutch pedal uncomfortably high.  I put my old pushrod on my new cylinder and all was well.

Wedge List / Clutch Slave Pushrods
« Last post by Wayne Simpson on April 17, 2018, 11:31:28 PM »
Some years ago, I seem to remember the replacement clutch slave

cylinders were shipping with longer than normal pushrods. The standard

length Is something like 5-3/8" if this one I have here is any

indication. Does anyone know how long these oversize rods were, and do

any of you have one of these long pushrods they would be willing to part

with? I need it for a 5 speed conversion project on my Stag.

Thanks,

You know you're getting old when all your friends are dropping like flies.  I think in the last year I've lost about 10 friends.  In the British car world there was Herman, now Clay and several local guys, Sonny, Chris and Mel.

Of all the guys I wish would just go away, Clay was not one of them.  He was always friendly, helpful and welcoming.  A gentleman by all measures.

So sorry to hear of Clay's passing.  He indeed was an authority of all things

Wedges and I've referred to his website for helpful tips often.  He will

indeed be missed by the Wedge community as I am sure many, many others.

Thanks Bill. Mystery solved! Now I understand why the ROM says to remove the switch - to allow the shuttle to recenter itself in case it moves.B  You've explained it's operation perfectly!

Thanks again, and thank goodness we have the collective resources that this list provides.
